Allana Ferguson

Commentator, Dual International (Rugby Union & Rugby League)

Allana Ferguson is a former dual international rugby league and union player turned commentator who has just resigned with Channel Nine and Stan Sport.

A childhood prodigy, Allana, was the youngest female to play open women’s Australian Oztag aged 15 and a few years later in 2013 represented Australia in Rugby Sevens.

Consecutive knee injuries forced Allana onto the sidelines for several years before making the switch back to rugby league. Allana played her first women’s rugby league game in 2015 and later starred for New South Wales against Queensland. This saw her elevated into the Australia Jillaroos squad the following year.

In 2016, Allana made her debut for Australia at the Auckland Nines and later made her test debut in the ANZAC match against New Zealand. Later that year she starred for New South Wales in their first victory over Queensland in eighteen years.

Allana appears weekly as a full-time commentator for Nine’s Wide World of Sports and Stan Sport covering Rugby League and Rugby Union across both channels. She appears weekly on television programs such as the Sunday Footy Show and the Footy Show on the Nine Network.

Outside of sport, Allana is a fully qualified teacher and is a proud mother of two.
