Brad Johnson

Australian Football Hall of Fame

Brad Johnson played 364 games for the Western Bulldogs amassing 558 goals between 1994 and 2010. He was the Captain of the Bulldogs between 2007 and 2010.

Despite his small size for his position, Brad was considered to be one of the best forwards in the game because of his overhead marking ability, and he also had the ability to play across half forward or in the midfield. Throughout Brad’s career, he was selected as an All-Australian on six occasions including as Captain in 2006.

Along his way, Brad won the Charles Sutton Medal on three occasions which is awarded to the best & fairest player in the Bulldogs at the end of each season. He was the leading goal scorer for the Bulldogs over five seasons.

In 2014, Brad was inducted into the Australian Hall of Fame.

These days, Brad is a highly popular media personality. He co-hosted the children’s AFL show Auskick’n Around on Fox Footy Channel. He is currently the Mix 101.1 Resident Footy Expert on Friday mornings. He also appeared as a panellist on the Seven Networks 2010 AFL Grand Final coverage.

Since 2012, Brad has cemented himself as a much-loved media personality with Fox Footy as a ‘special comments’ commentator as well as his role on Saturday Stretch where he provides the best wrap of the day in footy. He can also be heard talking all things footy on RSN and K-Rock radio.
