Dylan Alcott OAM

Paralympic Legend

Dylan Alcott is an accomplished athlete, speaker, media commentator, brand ambassador and advocate for people living with disability. He is also the founding director of the Dylan Alcott Foundation – a charitable organisation with the core purpose of helping young Australians with disabilities gain self-esteem and respect through sport and study.

Dylan is a three-time Paralympian, having won three gold medals in two different sports. At the age of 17, Dylan became the youngest ever wheelchair basketball gold medallist at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, and after gold at the 2010 World Championships, and silver at the London 2012 games, decided to switch sports to wheelchair tennis. In addition to his incredible successes at the Rio Olympics, Dylan has also won 12 grand slam singles titles to date, including the last seven Australian Open titles.

Dylan is also one of the most recognised and revered athletes in the Paralympic sports movement around the world. His unique ability to connect with people on a personal level has shaped his brand and elevated his profile to become one of the most commercially successful athletes in Australia.

Dylan’s authentic delivery, humble disposition, and good-humoured self-deprecation have been key to breaking down the barriers to talking about disability. In fact, his message is so strong that Dylan is now a sought-after keynote speaker around the world.
