Jason Hodges
Garden & Landscape Design
Jason Hodges is best known for his long-standing on-screen role with Better Homes and Gardens as their celebrity garden and landscape designer transforming outdoor spaces and providing expert advice to viewers of all ages and genders.
Jason has been working with gardens his entire life. With a bricklayer father, an older brother who is a horticulturalist and two older sisters who are florists, it’s probably inevitable that Jason chose to pursue a career in landscaping. He completed Landscape Horticulture and Construction at Ryde TAFE, NSW, and enjoyed the course so much that he later taught the same course at the very same TAFE.
Jason’s love of gardening and outdoor activities along with his warm, engaging and loveable character allowed him to take the step into a media career. Most viewers would know Jason from his five-year stint as the resident landscaper on the successful Channel Seven series Auction Squad and, more recently as the resident garden and landscape personality on Better Homes & Gardens between 2005 and 2019. In 2014, Better Homes and Gardens won a record 12th Silver Logie for Australia’s Most Popular Lifestyle Program. Jason was an instrumental figure in BH&G’s popularity.
Jason is a four-time Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show (MIFGS) Gold medallist. Maybe his career highlight was his medal-winning garden design at the Chelsea Flower Show in London. Jason these days focuses on his farming business, “Buxus Balls of Berry” and other ventures.
Expect to see Jason back as a regular fixture on our TV screens soon!
