Dr Joanna McMillan has become one of Australia’s favourite and best-known nutrition and lifestyle specialists. She is a PhD qualified nutrition scientist, Accredited Practising Dietitian, Adjunct Senior Research Fellow with La Trobe University, guest lecturer at The University of Sydney and a Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine.

Joanna’s goal is to bring people evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle information, help sift through the ever-changing trends and spot the misinformation and nonsense, to ultimately help people to lead a healthier, happier life.

As a warm and engaging MC, keynote and TEDx speaker, Joanna travels Internationally. She is a popular health presenter and a regular on television and radio, with over 15 years presenting health and nutrition segments on The Today Show and as a presenter on ABC’s science show Catalyst

Joanna is an accomplished author of eight books, including the latest The Feel-Good Family Food Plan (Murdoch Books, 2020). Her first Audible Original book, Gutfull, What to Eat for a Happy Gut was released Dec 2020. 

Joanna is a nutrition consultant to Cobram Estate, MoJo Kombucha and an ambassador to Diabetes Australia, The Skin Health Institute, FoodBank and the Orangutan Alliance

With a passion for busting the misinformation and conflicting messages that abound on the topic of nutrition and lifestyle choices for the health of both us and our planet, Jo says:

“My goal is to translate the science and emerging research into what that really means for us all, now and in the future, in terms of what and how we eat, and the lifestyle choices we make, to help us to look and feel our best at every age, while giving us the best chance of optimal health. Importantly it should add joy and pleasure to life, not take it away! At the same time, we increasingly have to think about how these choices impact the health of our planet, shaping the way we eat in the future.”
