Triple M ‘The Rush Hour’

Mark Geyer fondly known as “MG” played 180 NRL games between 1986 and 2000. He won the 1991 NRL Premiership with the Penrith Panthers. A tough and uncompromising player, no one would forget his famous half-time confrontation with Queensland Captain “The King” Wally Lewis in the 1991 State of Origin Series. Mark represented both NSW and Australia.

Since Retirement, MG has forged a very successful media career. Mark was part of the Triple M on-air team for the Sydney breakfast show called The Grill Team between 2009 to 2017 before moving to the evening slot The Rush Hour on the same station where he still is active today. Since 2012, Mark has been involved in Fox Sports’ rugby league coverage and is a panellist on NRL on FOX alongside Warren Smith and Matty Johns.

Mark has also supported number of charities such as the Fight For Life charity boxing event, and as the ambassador for the Save Our Sons charity. In response to the 2010-2011 Queensland floods, Mark organised the 2011 Legends of Origin charity match which raised $455,345 for the recovery effort.

On Australia Day 2013, Mark was announced in the Honours List. He received an Order of Australia medal for “service to the sport of Rugby League football, and to the community through a range of charitable organisations”.
