Mark Skaife is a 5-times V8 Supercars Champion winner who won six Bathurst 1000 victories, three Australian Drivers Championships and he broke the all-time record for Round/Race wins which stood for many years beyond his retirement.
After retiring from full time racing in 2008, Mark was appointed an Independent Director of Supercars Australia and joined the Supercars TV commentary team. Developing the concept and project managing the Supercars ‘Car of the Future’ program, Mark has led an influx of new manufacturers into the Championship including Nissan, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo. He served as the inaugural Chairman of the Supercars Commission until the end of 2013.
In 2014, Mark was recognised for his contribution and achievements in Supercars by being inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside the sport’s great champions. Mark was the designer of the Supercars street circuits in Townsville, Sydney and the revised layout on the Gold Coast and New Zealand. He is also responsible for the successful Newcastle street race circuit. Since retiring from driving, Mark has worked as a commentator and presenter for the Supercar series for both the Seven Network and Fox Sports. He remains an integral voice within the sport and a polished media performer and keynote speaker.
Mark’s motor industry credentials are impeccable. He is an active advisor to various companies and motoring groups regarding road safety, vehicle dynamics and driver training. He is currently working with the executive team on the new Brisbane Auto Mall, a world class facility located adjacent to the Brisbane airport which will become the epicentre and showpiece of the Australian automotive industry once complete. Awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his services to motor racing and the community, Mark will publish his fourth book in late 2020.
