Nathan Hindmarsh affectionately known as ‘Hindy’ is one of Parramatta’s favourite sons who played his entire career, 330 games, with the Eels. In 2010 he broke the record for most games with the club. He played 17 games for New South Wales between 2001 and 2010 and represented his country on 22 occasions from 2000 to 2009. Nathan’s on field career highlight was no doubt World Cup glory in 2000.

Nathan debuted for the Eels in 1998 and quickly became a fan favourite due to his tireless work-rate, powerful hit ups and faultless defence. Nathan was awarded the Provan-Summons Medal (fan’s choice for Player of the Year) on five occasions. He was the first player in NRL history to make 10,000 tackles.

In retirement, Nathan’s popularity has followed him. In 2013, he joined Fox Sports as an NRL commentator and analyst. Shortly after, he joined the Monday Night with Matty Johns team. Along with his role on the couch, the regular ‘Fletch & Hindy’ segment, with his mate Bryan Fletcher, has become a very popular and hilarious part of the show. In 2015, Nathan also joined Matty Johns for his new Thursday night show, Matty Johns Big Weekend. In 2016 the team moved to Friday nights to present Friday Night Footy on Fox. Nathan’s wit, humour and rugby league knowledge makes him an invaluable member of the Fox Sports NRL team.

It should also be mentioned Nathan is a tireless charity worker with a particular focus on children’s health with the likes of The Children’s Hospital Westmead. In 2009 whilst he was playing, Nathan was awarded the Ken Stephens Medal in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the community and actions as a role model to young players and fans. In retirement, Nathan became a NRL Ambassador in 2012, supporting the NRL State of Mind, Well Being, Tackle Bullying, Respect and Belonging programs.
