World Surfing Champion

Sally Fitzgibbons is a current star competing in the Association of Surfing Professionals World Tour. In 2019, Sally was ranked Number 1 in the world for women’s surfing after winning the Rio Pro.

Born in New South Wales, Sally grew up representing her school at a variety of sports, including cross country running, soccer and touch football. Eventually she decided to pursue surfing and became the youngest surfer ever to win the ASP Pro Junior event, aged just 14 years old.

Sally continued to compete as a junior, winning the Australasian Pro Junior Series in 2007 and 2008, the Billabong ASP Under 21 World Title and the ISA World Games Open Title. In 2010 she came second in the ASP Women’s World Title, a performance she repeated over the next two years at the competition. Since then, Sally has won numerous tournaments around the world, including the Roxy Pro France, the Billabong Pro Brazil and the Fiji Pro twice. Her performance at the Rio Pro in 2019 saw her rise to take the spot of World No. 1 and qualified her to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Alongside her stellar surfing career, Sally is also an advocate for children’s health and fitness, and founder of the Sally Fitzgibbons Foundation to provide sports and health coaching to children. She is the author of two books, including her 2017 food and fitness book Summer Fit All Year Round.
