Facing systemic racism, Ali was denied basic human rights such as education, travel, and freedom. Taking personal accountability for his life, Ali decided to come to Australia. He undertook an uncertain journey that included being smuggled across borders and facing life-threatening situations, during which he almost lost his life. Despite these earlier unfavourable circumstances, after arriving in Australia in 2008, Ali achieved significant milestones in both his personal and professional life.

In his professional career, after graduating from university with honours in Engineering, Ali has made substantial contributions to the utility sector. His leadership approach has earned him recognition as one of the top five emerging utility leaders by Water Services Associations Australia in 2020. Additionally, he has been honoured in Engineers Australia’s “Forty Under Forty” list in 2021 and the Department of Premier and Cabinet’s “Forty Under Forty” list in 2023 in South Australia.

Ali now dedicates his efforts to sharing his inspiring journey of personal resilience and professional triumph. Through his talks, he empowers professionals to take personal accountability, maintain the right perspective, and apply self-discipline in their lives. Ali’s message is clear: resilience is not just about surviving hardships but thriving through them. By fostering these qualities, individuals can become more productive and effective, ultimately benefiting their organisations.
