Andrew Ettingshausen fondly known as “ET” played 328 NRL games for the Cronulla Sharks between 1983 to 2000. At the time, this was a record for most games with a single club which stood for ten years until Darren Lockyer broke it in 2010. Andrew played 27 games for the NSW Blues in State of Origin and 25 Tests for Australia. In 2008, Andrew was inducted into the NRL Hall of Fame.
In retirement, Andrew went on to host and produce his own fishing television show titled Escape with ET. The show is essentially a fishing show hosted by Andrew however also focuses on many water sports (such as white water rafting and wakeboarding), off-road 4WD driving and other outdoors activities. The show has been screening since 1997.
In 1992, his beloved Cronulla Club extended their ground at Endeavour Field adding a new stand to the ground. The club originally calling the stand the ‘Western Endeavour’ grandstand however in retirement in 2000 the club changed the name to the ‘Andrew Ettingshausen’ stand in his honour.
In 2008, Andrew was named in the list of Australia’s 100 Greatest Players (1908-2007) which was commissioned by the NRL and ARL to celebrate the code’s centenary year in Australia. In the same year, Andrew was inducted into the NRL Hall of Fame.
