Lote Tuqiri

Dual International

Lote Tuqiri is a dual international and is regarded as one of the highest profile rugby league converts of all-time.

Lote played six State of Origin games for Queensland, five Test matches for Australia and won an NRL Premiership with the Brisbane Broncos before his high profile switch to join the Wallabies in 2003.

Lote was a prolific try scorer in rugby union and was a key weapon in the Wallabies 2003 Rugby World Cup assault on home soil. Lote scored the opening try in the 2003 RWC Final. Unfortunately, the Wallabies lost in golden point time to a dramatic Jonny Wilkinson field goal.

By late 2006, Lote had notched up 50 Tests for the Wallabies missing only two internationals over a four-year period. He became the fastest, in terms of both Tests and time to reach this mark in Wallabies history.

In 2009, Lote headed overseas to play for the Leicester Tigers. Shortly after, Lote returned to play in the NRL this time with Souths Sydney Rabbitohs finishing his playing career with another NRL Premiership.

These days, Lote invests his time, money and interests in Co-Founding HooZu. They marry talent and tech with their great team in the influencer space on social media HooZu.com. Lote is also an Ambassador for Beach Rugby Australia.
